Christine Goetz - Cris Clams
Christine Goetz created Cris' Clams at 66 and she continues to honor and Love her husband Harold through her beautiful art.
The Love of the beach resulted in Cris combining art and nature. Cris, a Desert Storm Army Veteran and husband Harold Beach, and WWII Navy Veteran, loved combing the Jersey Beaches picking up shells, driftwood, and other gems of the sea.
In 2016, Harold, losing his battle with cancer, entered into hospice at home. Cris was faced with many lonely hours as her love slept much of the day. To pass time and still be right next to Harold, she began painting lighthouses on the shells collected years before. Lighthouses are special because they are often looked at in a spiritual sense & the beacon brings a sense of peace, hope, and guidance. This little craft made life keen to the pain. Cris would paint & when Harold was awake, he would have to tell her a story about the scene.
Harold passed to the spirit world Feb. 2017. Cris continues to paint shells in Harold's memory and 75% of what she makes from her art goes to one of their Veteran's Organizations in Harold's name.
