John Busse is a guitarist, singer and songwriter from Somerville, NJ. From an early age, he developed an affinity for music due to his guitar playing father and mother, who sang in various choirs. Coming from a musical family, Busse played different instruments until discovering his own sense of creative freedom with the guitar. He began playing guitar as a hobby at the age of 9, but it was not until he was 14 that he truly made a commitment to the instrument, and has not looked back since.
In his own words, Busse’s musical approach is to feel it in his bones, delving the infinite void for scraps of melodies and harmonies to weave together for you. Busse is heavily influenced by musicians such as John Frusciante, Shpongle, LCD Soundsystem, Jimi Hendrix, and Radiohead. According to John, his music is not a product of one genre but that of many. From Classic Rock and Blues, to Funk and Folk, Busse has been interested in it all at one point, and it's stylistically evident through his music.
In 2010, John Busse first began sharing his music and performing the songs he'd been writing. He is now a seasoned performer, regularly found playing his melodies and harmonies at local NJ and NY venues. Busse says he is always working on some type of creative project, and can often be found jamming, writing, or recording something new. His music is can be found on Soundcloud and he also records videos of himself playing his own music, as well as the occasional cover song, on his social media and Youtube.
