Riley Schiro - Music Saved My Life!
Riley Schiro grew up with an alcoholic parent with a heavy drug addiction. It forced him to grow up fast.
"Being the oldest child, I became the man of the house at a very young age. As I got older, I myself became an alcoholic, getting progressively worse as the years went on. I became extremely overweight and was dealing with all kinds of health issues. I finally reached bottom last year when I started nodding off on stage during shows with my band.
I was told that the band would have to find a new guitar player if I didn’t clean up my act. Music is, and has been, for as long as I can remember, the most important thing in the world to me, and I was not going to let that slip away. And I also had many other great things in my life, relationships, friendships, my health, etc..
So I got my shit together, quit drinking cold turkey, and began exercising and eating healthy, and I’m now in the best shape of my life and happier than I have ever been!"
Riley has been playing guitar for 17 years and favors acoustic folk, rock, indie and blues. He also writes his own music, his inspiration coming from his friends and fellow musicians.
Riley will be performing at All Things Local's very first music event this Sunday, Feb 25th from 2pm - 4pm. This free event is open to our community of customers and friends, so come and join us!
